Dravite is a magnesium-rich member of the Tourmaline Group with the ideal formula NaMg₃Al₆(Si₆O₁₈)(BO₃)₃(OH)₃OH. It crystallizes in the trigonal crystal system.

Dravite is commonly brown to brownish black but may also occur in dark yellow, green, or blue shades. It has a Mohs hardness of about 7 and a specific gravity of roughly 3.03 to 3.18.

It commonly occurs in metamorphic rocks and pegmatitic environments and forms equant to long prismatic crystals.
